Test Context
I had the opportunity to try side by side a Tonewinner AD-7300+ amplifier (Class D, 300W@8Ω, 7-channel) and the Summit HiFi A7 (Class A/B, 200W RMS@8Ω, 7-channel).

I was not expecting much differences beside the style (analogue vs digital VU metter) but yes, there is much more than I tought! The A7 revealed a significant and unexpectedly substantial improvement across several domains, most notably with digital sources where the differences are most evident.

Analog Performance
On vinyl source (Planar 2 ND3 + Tube Box S2), the A7 brings a subtle yet coherent shift:
Reduction of power line hum (-3 to -6dB): The turntable's electronic hum, clearly audible at startup with the Tonewinner, is significantly reduced. This results from the A7's superior damping factor (>300 vs ~150 Class D) which locks mechanical motor vibrations more effectively.
More detail and clarity: Genesis "Selling England by the Pound" reveals tighter instrument separation, particularly in orchestral passages. The Tube Box S2 coloration is present, but amplified more musically. Controlled warmth: The Class A/B signature adds no audible distortion, but rather a psychoacoustic "richness" that enriches the tonal palette without masking nuance.

If you are shopping for a new amp, just stop and buy one of these. They are massive, have incredible build quality, and pair wonderfully with my M&K speakers. I replaced my B&K legacy amps with this one and I was expecting an upgrade, but not to this quality. I cannot say enough about this amp. Clean, accurate, raw power. If you are reading this review and are shopping around for amps, this is the one you want.
