Surround Yourself with Perfection

The M17 V2i carries on the enviable task of representing NAD’s finest surround sound performance. Infinite possibilities await thanks to the M17 V2i’s most impressive feature, Modular Design Construction (MDC), NAD’s proven method for preventing premature obsolescence. Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio combine with Dirac Live® Room Correction to deliver hyper-realism that captures every dimension of a performance. Add bit-perfect 4K UHD video processing and the M17i V2i delivers the most accurate sound and image experience you’ve ever had. The M17 V2i is second-to-none in terms of flexibility and up-to-the-minute digital technology.

Fully Featured Surround

The M17 V2i offers full HDMI video switching and surround sound decoding along with 11.1 balanced outputs. Brimming with a full complement of sophisticated features like the high resolution lossless surround formats from Dolby TrueHD, DTS: X and DTS-HD Masters Audio decoding, and now object-based audio with Dolby Atmos, the M17 provides the highest levels of performance. The surround mode of the source material is automatically detected via the digital inputs of the M17 V2i, and the most advanced form of decoding, based on your setup, is switched in. Conversion of the encoded digital bitstream is performed with high resolution and extremely linear D/A converters carefully selected for their performance capabilities.

Flexible Setup

The latest HDMI features, including HDCP 2.2, 4:4:4 colour resolution, High Dynamic Range video support, and CEC/ARC, are all included. Digital inputs and outputs are available in both coaxial and optical formats to make it easy to attach all your digital sources. With BluOS® we have also made it easy to add more speakers for listening to music in additional rooms. IR repeaters, 12V triggers to automatically switch amplifiers on and off, and an RS-232 data port makes it easy to connect to highly advanced automated control systems, such as Crestron and Control4. Thoughtful features like discrete On and Off codes, direct access to inputs and FM station presets facilitates the integration of the M17 V2i into elaborate remote control systems.

Master Quality Authenticated

Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) is a revolutionary end-to-end technology built into every BluOS Enabled amplifier to capture and deliver MQA music to your speakers in the purest quality. All BluOS Enabled players and systems include a powerful decoder and audio renderer for the millions of the MQA encoded songs, The MQA logo shown in the BluOS app indicates that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and lets you know that you are hearing exactly what the artist recorded and approved in the studio.

World’s Most Sophisticated Digital Room Correction

Dirac Live® and its powerful room correction software is built in to the M17 V2i, including its own calibrated measurement microphone and Dirac Live Pro. Advanced users can build the perfect listening environment that corrects for both the timing and colourations in sound, including the ability to create custom target curves for room response and the option to choose from a variety of third-party calibrated microphones.

The BluOS Advantage

A unique among high-end AV Processors, BluOS®, the advanced operating system and music management software shared with NAD’s sister brand Bluesound, is included in the M17 V2i. When connected to the Internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, the M17 V2i has access to thousands of Internet radio stations and over a dozen high quality music services including Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, and many more. With full support for Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology, the M17 V2i has the highest resolution audio performance available combined with the highest definition video performance.

Top Quality Processor

Having had a Denon AVR (X4500) I was good with the operating system and found it good for the most part. Upgrading to seperate amplification helped with the dynamics. This NAD processor is on another level both in customizability and build quality. Just unpacking it and touching it you feel how high quality everything is. The operating system takes some getting used to with navigation using arrows instead of an ok/enter button. The Wifi is handlded with a dongle (little USB wifi plugin). That requires setup outside of the system user interface. The sound calibration is on another level and does require a lot more time than what I was expecting. But after having it for 6 months I feel I can give an honest review. Just setting the sound levels and distances you can hear more channel seperation. I think that was the largest improvement coming from an AVR. Using XLR cables is also a lot nicer than RCAs with pre-outs on the Denon. Dirac has so much customization I haven't gone indepth. I have ran 2 profiles and was able to load them onto the M17 v2i over wifi without issue. The remote is a piece of art and is insanely heavy (mostly metal). the backlighting is an awesome touch. Integration of the NAD for volume control with the TV remote (HDMI CEC) and even Amazon Firestick was simple. Picture quality is great, no issue with 4k on any devices. The unit does get warm, but doesn't run as hot an AVR. This unit is a luxury item and aside from the setup taking a bit longer I am happy I bit the bullet. If you are on the fence about going with seperates, It's a worth while upgrade. The NAD was purchased as I don't plan to buy another processor for several years. Especially with the upgradability of this. Also working with Aamir he was able to get me one without having to wait. He is the reason I purchased this rather than getting a Marantz or Tonewinner. Like others have stated he treats you like a friend more than a customer and goes above and beyond. I have it paired with 2 emotiva amps (DR2 and XPA3) and a Tonewinner AD7300 (also purchased from Aamir). I haven't had any issues with HDMI switching, picture quality or sound quality. I read some reviews stating that they had issues with this, I haven't experienced any and this thing gets used daily. I enjoy mostly in a 7.2.4 setup with the odd music listening added in. Was using with Klipsch RP-8000fs and SVS Ultra Towers. This processor just works, glad I bit the bullet.

Things to note;
- height channels have 4 mini XLR inputs (adapters included thankfully)
- One subwoofer channel, but 2 inputs (so calibration needs to be done yourself, DIRAC helps a bit)
- Modules are upgrdable (so as HDMI standards change you should be able to keep up)- buy once, cry once
- NAD M17 V2i is a piece of art, so it looks awesome as a center piece in a hometheater cabinet
- Wish the front display was bigger (seeing the sound format requires you to get close)

NAD M17v2

I was looking to upgrade to separates in my home theater set up. Had a Yamaha RX A2080, very nice receiver. With the upgrade I was hoping to get something that was also great for stereo and streaming. Aamir again, with his suggestion hit the ball out of the park! The NAD M17 is NOT just an upgrade, it is on a completely different planet! It really is a game changer in my system, the NAD is really that good!! powering it with two Tonewinner AD5180's and two SVS subs all from Aamir. Every day I enjoy my system as I never have before, and thank him. All the years that I have been into Audio(I'm almost 60) I can honestly say that I have never came across anyone in that business who actually really cares, makes a person feel special, and makes the whole experience a pleasure. Next is upgrading the Paradigm Prestige towers and center!! I can't wait, and won't go anywhere else. 5 stars isn't enough.

NAD M17 V2I Best sounding processor

I Purchased the NAD M17 V2I from summit Hi Fi all I can say is I'm impressed the sound quality is unbelievable for music and movies.I purchased the receiver from summit hi fi and they were able to get it very quickly 1 day with excellent customer service. The blending of the sound made it feel like your actually there in the movie. You must have separate amplifiers to use this processor also use the dirac room correctly and measure all 17 points and load Nads correction file. For sound quality this is the best!
