The Ultra Center cabinet design yields numerous sonic benefits. The non-parallel cabinet panels reduce standing waves within the cabinet, effectively eliminating frequency response coloration. The wedge-shaped front baffle and flush-mounted drivers reduce edge diffraction and improved on-axis high frequency response. Even the grille design is FEA-optimized to maximize acoustic transparency.
SVS DRIVERS EXTREME PERFORMANCE AND UNCOMPROMISED FIDELITY
The proprietary SVS drivers utilize the finest materials and design features to ensure the highest sound quality and performance. The Ultra Center driver array features a 1" aluminum dome tweeter, a 4" midrange driver, and dual 6.5" woofers. The vertically aligned tweeter and midrange improves horizontal axis polar response, with reduced lobing and comb filtering for a smooth frequency response and excellent dialogue intelligibility at all listening positions.

Arguably the most important - though often overlooked - speaker in a home theatre system, the center channel carries the bulk of the actors’ dialogue. So if you want to hear and appreciate the spoken word, get a good center channel speaker! This quest led me to the SVS Ultra Center speaker. It is a massive sonic upgrade from the Paradigm Monitor 7 center that it replaces in my system. Aamir at Summit provided exceptional customer service on the sale and speedy delivery of this cross-country purchase. Highly recommended!
What a speaker. Aamir is such an awesome person who helped me set up and buy most of the components of my new home theater setup. The Ultra center basically topped it off as the cherry on top. It provides perfect dialogue with great clarity and spread across our seating positions. Every step of the way from buying/deciding on where to put my speakers to deciding on seating and how to decorate the room, Aamir helped me out and I really really appreciate it. When building a home theater the center channel is the most important speaker. This does a good job matching the SVS Ultra Towers. Coming from a Klipsch RP-504c I wasn't worried about size. Just make sure the height of the speaker won't be an issue in your setup. Appearance is amazing in gloss black, something truly exceptional to look at. The bind posts at the back are very high quality like all of the SVS Ultra line of speakers. There are 2 small ports (no port plugs like other SVS speakers). I have an 82 inch TV and I don't notice an issue with glare from the high gloss finish. Something to consider if you have a projector though. Tons of detail and richness to the sound. Balanced is the best way to describe it from the highs and mids. Bass is alright but also don't expect a ton of bass from a center channel (PB16 Ultra and Klipsch R-115 subs do that). The price is very reasonable for what you get. Only complaint is I wish the grills were magnetic. It's worth the purchase, you won't be disappointed.
